63) not what we expected

The hospital tests didn't go to plan this morning. The velcade seems to be working on the cancer carrying protien but unfortunately it has started attacking my platelets again, the platelets have dropped from a workable 68 last Tuesday to a poor 23 this week, so I am off the drugs again and having blood tests Friday so that the clinical team can set to work on plan C at a meeting on Friday with the hope of being a little closer to answers by Tuesday morning.
I want to thank all family and friends near and far for your fabulous support and all the hospital staff who are working so hard for us. I will tell you all that goes on so that you can support us when we have not so good news and celebrate the good news when we get it. We are in this together, I am glad that you are there, THANK YOU.
I was down this morning but better now, I am always better when we have a plan/ or a start of one.

    Sorry to hear that news today, but at least there's a plan C! Stay in control of it. I'm the same with IVF (which is emtionally difficult) Ivan, as long as I'm in control and there's a plan to action I'm ok, it's when I have to wait and rely on God's will that I have a problem! Hand the bits you can't control over to God and fight the stuff you can with your usual gusto and positive spirit! Thinking of you!
    I removed my orginal comment because I wanted to add this PS... I know my IVF is the battle you're fighting but I just wanted to offer some support with the nearest experience I have, hope it makes sense!

    Whoops, just re-read my comment and where it says 'my IVF is the battle you're fighting..' it was clearly meant to say 'my IVF ISN'T the battle you're fighting..' so before you go into panic or Averil gets the wrong idea ha! I've now added this and am going to go and leave you and all your readers to worry about my state of mind!!!

    I understand what you have said, I think others will too, we can only fight our own battles with the help and support of God and our friends, you are praying for me and I for you, what more can we do?

    Averil and Ann said you should have come over and shared wine with them this evening while Mick and I went to watch Warrington. By the way we sat in the old seating from Main Road to watch the game, you should have joined us and forgot about the wine.

    yes, I agree with the comments above. You can do all you can with the help of family, friends and doctors but then the rest lies with the will of God.

    Did I miss something about the shack?
    Life can be one hell of a roller-coaster at times but rememember those footprints in the sand beside you.
    There's always Plan C by the way. Things get shakey around Plan Q.
